Cape Alfa Romeo Club Charles Murray Memorial Day 2008 Sunday 20 January 2008 - Killarney You are cordially invited to join us at our annual track day. The only requirements are: " Valid & paid up membership of the Cape Alfa Romeo Club " A crash helmet & non-synthetic clothing, long sleeves & trousers " A road worthy Alfa Romeo (sorry NO SPIDERS) - with all loose items removed from the car (also the boot). Remember to check that battery is clamped. All participating vehicles will be safety scrutineered. " Alfa Romeo race cars must be suitably silenced to comply with Sunday noise regulations. " Attendance of the drivers' briefing beforehand. Preliminary program: At Scrutineering Bay: 8h30 - 9h00: Compulsory noise level check for race cars & early registration 9h00 - 9h55: Registration & Safety scrutineering. At WPMC Clubhouse: 10h00: Compulsory Drivers' briefing Pit lane & track 10h30: New driver training & first 20 min session. " Track will be open for 20min sessions, if necessary limiting the number of vehicles on the track. " Absolutely no alcohol will be allowed " There will be a lunch break - bring your own provisions. " CAR Preparation: If your brake fluid is > 2years old please change it, or your safety & that of those around you could be at risk. Fill sump to max mark & pump your tires harder than usual. No oil leaks please. " Cost is R150.00 per driver (a bargain - race drivers pay more than twice that to register for two races on a Saturday) R20 for passengers. CARC members only. " Please note: This is a track day - not a race day. The purpose is to have some safe fun in your Alfa in a controlled environment and become a better driver at the same time. You and your car are probably safer than on the N1. Overtaking is only permitted on the straights. This and all safety regulations will be strictly enforced.
